Our algorithms optimize your charging for when costs and electric grid strain are low, provided there’s enough time to get to your target battery level by the daily Departure time you set.
Under some circumstances, to ensure that we meet your mobility needs, your EV may charge during on-peak periods. Reasons for this include:
- Your EV’s daily Departure time and target battery level are such that there was insufficient time to charge exclusively during off-peak hours.
- Your EV has less than 20% state of charge (SOC) and you have Low Battery Protection.
- You are a new user and we have yet to detect enough information about your vehicle to effectively manage your charging - WeaveGrid needs to detect 60-90 minutes of continuous charging (based on a 240 Volt home outlet) to create your first Automatic Smart Charging schedule.
