When you’re enrolled in a program with Automatic Smart Charging, your ‘smart times’ represent the home charging that occurs within the schedule optimized by WeaveGrid. While ‘smart’ times often overlap with ‘off-peak’ hours, they are not the same.
Charging outside of WeaveGrid’s optimized schedule can lower your smart charging percentage. This happens when you override the schedule by:
- Manually start charging via your charger, vehicle, or their apps
- Clicking “Charge Now” in the Tesla app or console, or replying ‘Charge now’ to our Scheduled Charge text
- Editing the ‘Start Charging At’ or ‘Depart By’ settings in the Tesla app or console after WeaveGrid has set an optimized schedule
To check if a charging session was ‘smart,’ view your charging history on the WeaveGrid dashboard. If it was during ‘smart times,’ you’ll see a greenhouse icon next to the session.
